Sergio Perez had a disappointing outing at the Belgian GP despite starting from the front row. The Mexican secured seventh, even below teammate Max Verstappen who started from 11th and ended up fourth. After the race media caught Perez and asked him the obvious questions about his future with Red Bull where he responded bluntly.

Sergio Perez after the race was asked whether he’s confident about racing with Red Bull after another race with no podium. The Mexican replied bluntly saying he’s confident. According to Checo, he had a positive weekend and nothing has changed regarding his situation. Pérez believed there is still a lot of work to be done within the team. He mentioned they need to concentrate on important tasks rather than getting distracted by rumors. Therefore, Checo believed focusing on their work is more crucial than keeping an eye on gossip.

Correct. I had a good day yesterday, nothing has changed, I think we have a lot to do in the team, a lot of things we need to focus on, and we can’t waste energy with all these rumors.

Further, Perez annoyingly stated that this will be the last time he discusses his future in F1. He made it clear cut that he won’t be talking about his stay within the team. Because check believes there’s a lot of pending work to do before the second half of the season begins. Therefore, he decided to put an end to further discussions or speculations about his career plans and wants to focus on performance instead.

Sergio Perez labels Belgian GP as a ‘very disappointing’ race

Sergio Perez at the Belgian GP faced several issues at the beginning of the race. He noticed the first problem related to his car’s battery and further followed by difficulties with the tires. He described the race as a very disappointing performance for him. Everything felt very difficult for him at the front of the race starting from the battery issue. The Mexican felt frustrated because he couldn’t perform as well as he hoped due to these technical problems.

It was a very disappointing race. It started, as I would say, with a lot of difficulty up front, I don't know what was happening, but I had to manage the battery before the first laps, and everything was very tight up front.

When Perez managed to get his battery recharged, he mentioned he was on par with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. He was competitive and in a good position after the recharge. However, as the race went on he had to deal with traffic at one spot, which made things challenging and tricky for him. Therefore, as one problem got solved there was another ahead waiting for Checo to deal with.

Once I got the battery recharged a bit, I was pretty even with Lewis [Hamilton] and Charles [Leclerc], I was there, but then with all the traffic it became very difficult, very tricky.

Certainly, Sergio Perez explained that he encountered various challenges and difficulties during his race. The circumstances did not favor him resulting in a disappointing seventh-place finish. It was another disappointing performance for fans. The decision regarding Checo’s future at Red Bull has still not been decided, as they claimed Belgian GP will be a deciding race for the Mexican.
