Sergio Perez hopes to bring another Mexican to F1 amidst rumored Red Bull exit
Sergio Perez highlighted that Mexico's massive F1 fanbase would love to see another driver from their country on the grid in the future.

Red Bull’s Sergio Perez is the only Mexican driver on the current F1 grid. The 34-year-old’s future in the sport remains uncertain with rumors surfacing about his potential exit as early as the end of 2024. However, Checo highlighted that he would like to see a fellow countryman race at the pinnacle of motorsport soon.
Perez emphasized that he would like to work with a young driver in the near future. Sergio Perez hoped that he would be able to bring a Mexican into the sport after he retires. Moreover, the Red Bull driver pointed out that his country has millions of F1 fans who would love to cheer a new face.
Sergio Perez’s present Red Bull contract extends till the end of 2025. However, rumors have emerged that he could be replaced by Liam Lawson next season. However, some pundits have even named Williams prodigy Franco Colapinto as the ideal replacement for Checo.
Sergio Perez confesses F1 will be ‘unsustainable’ for him in the future
The 34-year-old pointed out his age difference to 27-year-old Max Verstappen. Additionally, Sergio Perez asserted that his children were the most important thing in his life. As such, staying away from his family during a hectic 24-race calendar is a challenge for Checo. Perez even admitted that this would not be sustainable for him in a few years.
Certainly, Sergio Perez has accepted that he is in the ending stages of his F1 career. However, the 34-year-old would want to complete his current Red Bull contract without the fear of losing his drive. As such, Checo will need to push himself to the limit in the last three races to safeguard his Red Bull seat.
