Sergio Perez claims he went back to Red Bull F1 sim to ‘improve his form’ ahead of Hungarian GP

Sergio Perez has been struggling to score any impressive results since the beginning of the 2024 season. The Mexican driver has still managed to get a two-year contract extension amidst disappointing performance. However, Perez has to pick the pace up to help Red Bull fend off against the rivals in the championship standings. Hence, the 34-year-old claimed that he visited the Red Bull sim to improve his performance for the upcoming Hungarian GP.

Sergio Perez has faced an early elimination from multiple qualifying sessions and has missed out on major points. Regardless, the 34-year-old hasn’t given up on trying to improve in terms of performance. Perez noted that it was great to have a week’s break after the disappointing British GP. The Mexican highlighted the importance of taking some time away from the noise of the racetrack.

It has been good to be able to have a period of time following the British GP, being able to take yourself away from the noise of the racetrack can sometimes be especially important.
Sergio Perez said during an interview.

Additionally, the 34-year-old enjoyed some off-track time with his family over the non-race weekend. However, Perez pointed out that he also visited the factory and spent time with the crew. Checo is desperate to start scoring better results amidst his contract extension as he will be analyzed by the summer break.

Sergio Perez claims Red Bull crew ‘works as a team’ to overcome challenges

Even the in-form Max Verstappen has been facing problems in managing to score race victories over the race weekends. Hence, Red Bull continued to bring in updates to the RB20 challenger to improve performance. However, the team still has a lot of work to do to improve performance during the 2024 season.

Sergio Perez noted that the Red Bull crew worked together on solutions and to overcome any hurdles that came their way for race performance.

We always work together on solutions and that is what we have been doing, working as a Team to overcome things.
Sergio Perez concluded.

The 2024 season is still halfway pending as anything could happen toward the end. McLaren is breathing down the necks of Red Bull as they have come extremely close in performance. Milton Keynes could face a serious challenge for the top spot towards the latter half of the current season.
