Sergio Perez‘s F1 career has loomed in uncertainty throughout 2024. Despite having a contract till 2025, rumors emerged that Checo could lose his seat after this season. Now, Perez has admitted that it is unclear if he will be on the grid in 2025.
The 34-year-old had the worst possible end to the season. Sergio Perez was forced to retire from the race after spinning out on Lap 1. This would undoubtedly have an impact on Red Bull’s plans for the Mexican driver.
Sergio Perez revealed that he will be part of discussions with Red Bull in the coming days. Checo hinted at a potential agreement between himself and Milton Keynes, potentially signaling at an early exit from the team.
Like I said, we’re going to be talking in the coming days and we will discuss the situation from both parties, and see if we are able to reach an agreement.

Sergio Perez gives cryptic contract verdict
Despite mentioning that Red Bull will be in talks over his future, Perez once again pointed back to his contract. The 34-year-old reckoned that if discussions fail, he always has a deal with the team which sees him partner Max Verstappen next season.

If not, like I said, I’ve got a contract for next year.

It seems that Perez might finally be forced to leave Red Bull for next season. Liam Lawson is the likely replacement for the Mexican driver if this decision is made. However, Red Bull is yet to make any official call on its driver line-up for 2025.
