Mercedes has started to perform extremely well, courtesy of the mid-season pace improvement in the W15. On the contrary, Red Bull has continued to struggle over the race weekend and is unable to score well. Due to this, Sergio Perez was struggling a bit at the Dutch GP qualifying as he also lashed out at Lewis Hamilton for ‘impeding.’

During the Q1 qualifying session at the Dutch GP, Lewis Hamilton set the fastest lap initially. Additionally, Sergio Perez was out on a fast lap during Hamilton’s in-lap. As a result, Hamilton came a bit in Perez’s way and the latter considered it ‘impeding.’ The Mexican immediately took to the team radio and called out the Briton for being an ‘idiot’ and questioned what he was doing.

Perez has continued to face major risks to his future after failing performance. As a result, the 34-year-old must perform well to continue racing in the pinnacle of motorsport. Hamilton, on the other hand, has already secured a seat with Ferrari for two years.

Lewis Hamilton claimed he was ‘well out of the way’ of Sergio Perez

Lewis Hamilton believed otherwise from Sergio Perez’s comments and claimed he wasn’t at fault. The 39-year-old responded on the team radio and claimed he was well out of the way of Perez. Regardless of the bout, the Mexican continued his drive as intended and didn’t face any major issues after the impeding incident.

FIA had noted the incident following Sergio Perez’s comments on the team radio. The governing body is unlikely to penalize either of the drivers for the incident. Both drivers moved on from the incident and continued to do well in the Q1 session. Subsequently, the qualifying session of the Dutch GP would be highly exciting to witness Red Bull’s improvement.
