The 2024 Belgian GP might be the last race for Sergio Perez at Red Bull considering his lackluster campaign this season. The Mexican was far behind his teammate Max Verstappen in ninth position. However, Checo Perez claims his RB20 had not fully extracted the outcome of the car.

Sergio Perez‘s career with Red Bull is on the knife’s edge as the performance in Belgian GP is indicating his removal from the team. He managed to secure as high as Seventh and ninth position in FP1-2. The Mexican mentioned that the team had been testing various car settings and adjustments. However, they haven’t yet found the perfect setup that allows the car to perform at its best. They hadn’t fully addressed all issues, and needed to extract from the car further to achieve its best performance.

We've been trying out different setups, we haven't been able to fully extract everything out of the car.

We got plenty of information, both cars are quite different, so I think we got a lot to go through for qualifying and race.

Sergio Perez claims lot of unknown coming their way at the Belgian GP

Sergio Perez mentioned that Spa has been resurfaced might be because of the kerbs which changes the feeling and behavior of the track. This resurfacing might affect the car’s grip and handling, making the race conditions even more difficult. He emphasized that weather conditions during the race would be challenging which will eventually make the race tough. Red Bull needed to make the necessary adjustments to the cars to tackle the challenges they would face during the race.

Although the tarmac is different with the resurfacing, the conditions are going to be quite extreme.
Sergio Perez stated.

Further, Checo mentioned that finding the right setup for both qualifying and the race will be quite challenging. It could be especially tricky because there might be rain during the qualifying session, adding another layer of uncertainty. The weather conditions will put them in a disadvantage if they don’t do the necessary tweaks. He stated as the weekend approaches there will still be many unknown factors and variables that could affect their performance in certain ways.

Finding balance for both qualifying and race is going to be an interesting one, potentially having a wet qualifying, going into weekend there's still a lot of unknowns coming up.
Sergio Perez added.

Certainly, Sergio Perez reckoned finding the right balance and solutions for the wet weather conditions is crucial to perform on Sunday. This is only possible if they find the right balance of the car, as both drivers share the same issues. If this might be Perez’s last race, fans hope to see him end on a good note at Red Bull.
