The Red Bull Formula 1 team had a horrendous race weekend at the 2024 Italian Grand Prix. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez initially fell short against Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes in qualifying, and then again in the race, they were unable to make much of an impression.

Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez ended their outing in sixth and eighth place. Seeing the dismal state of the team, the latter has urged the personnel at Red Bull to get their act together and work as hard as possible to have a potent RB20 at the Azerbaijan GP.

It wasn't the weekend we were expecting. Tomorrow, we'll get back to work and keep improving until we’re back where we belong. Thank you for your support!

The 2024 Formula 1 season is 16 rounds down with only eight races remaining on the calendar. McLaren currently has the most dominant challenger on the grid and because of this, they are now only eight points behind Red Bull in the Constructors Championship.

Max Verstappen also facing ‘similar issues’ to Sergio Perez in RB20

While Sergio Perez has urged his team to start putting in the necessary work, he also feels his teammate has started facing the same issues as him. Max Verstappen was not at all happy with the handling of the RB20 during the Italian GP weekend.

Moreover, after the race, he even asserted that Red Bull needed to change the whole car.

I really feel like I’m in the same boat as I’ve been in the last 10 races. But now, all of a sudden, Max has come to similar issues. So there’s a little bit of confusion there. But it’s clear in the data where the problem is.

Red Bull has been on a downward trajectory at the pinnacle of motor racing. Everyone on the team is well aware of the struggles and keeping in view what Perez has said after the Monza race, things don’t look good for them going forward. The Azerbaijan GP is immensely important for the Milton-Keynes-based team and several eyes will be glued on them throughout the race weekend.
