The Goodwood Festival of Speed was a grand success with the guest appearance of multiple legendary drivers. David Coulthard, Karun Chandhok, and many more esteemed personalities were present at the event. Even Sebastian Vettel was supposed to attend the event but couldn’t due to different priorities. Hence, Sergio Perez showcased his hopes to return to such an event many years after retirement.

Sergio Perez has raced with Red Bull for quite a while now. The Mexican driver would go down in the history books as one of the better drivers following up Max Verstappen. Thus, Perez noted that in a few years, it would be great to drive the cars the ex-drivers drove for quite a long time.

I think in a few years time it’d be nice to get back, when you see with the ex-drivers from the team, that they come back and drive their cars (where) they spent such a big part of their life.
Sergio Perez said during a Goodwood Festival of Speed interview.

Subsequently, the 34-year-old noted returning after 40 years at such an event would be amazing. Perez added that it would be great to race around in the old challengers after such a long gap. The current drivers’ lineup will form a major part of the team’s legacy in the pinnacle of motorsport.

So maybe when we do the 40th anniversary of the team we’ll come back and all together drive our cars again.
Sergio Perez added.

Perez opened up regarding his failing performances and how there were still many races ahead that could see a turnaround in terms of performance.

The last few races have been difficult. We haven't had a single easy race. There are still many races ahead of us. So, hopefully, we can turn the page and get back to the form we had at the beginning of anus
Sergio Perez added.

Red Bull has continued to provide the drivers with the best opportunity possible despite struggling pace. Max Verstappen has maintained great results while Perez is cracking under pressure. Hence, it will be exciting to see how the 2024 season pans out for the Mexican driver.
