Sergio Perez has failed to perform in the last six races of the season. The Mexican had faced a worse situation in terms of performance since the Miami GP. Red Bull thought extending his contract could motivate him to perform better, but the circumstances kept getting worse. The team even surrounded the talks of withdrawing him after the Hungarian GP or Belgium next weekend. Perez shared his views on the last weekend and Belgian GP.

Sergio Perez in a recent interview stated that the way he was able to bounce back on Sunday in Hungary was a good sign for him. He felt that it demonstrated how well he was driving the car during the race, despite crashing into a barrier at Qualifying. Perez mentioned facing many challenges that weekend, however his recovery during the race demonstrated how well he performed. Checo mentioned these positive results gave him confidence in his abilities and potential for the Belgian GP.

The recovery we managed on Sunday in Hungary was very positive. I think it showed how comfortable I was in the car over the weekend and the potential we had.

It’s frustrating that we didn’t get to fight for the podium, because we had the ability to be up there with the race performance we showed, the final stint was very promising. Now it’s down to me to put the whole weekend together in Belgium and I am confident we can.
Sergio Perez explained.

Sergio Perez wants to ‘repay’ Red Bull in Belgium

There’s one race to go before the summer break and I want to repay my Team for last weekend with a good result, they are all that matter to me.
