Red Bull Racing driver, Sergio Perez has claimed that he is working to the best of his abilities to perform more fruitfully compared to his previous outings. Perez has scored only four points across the last three races amongst which, two ended in a DNF.
On the contrary, his teammate Max Verstappen is currently in the lead for the driver’s championship after winning six out of nine races this season. Sergio Perez has hence said that his competition is not merely limited to other drivers on the grid but also to Verstappen, who has proved superior on several occasions since the 2023 campaign.

Perez has also applauded Max Verstappen for his ability to win races even without an extremely dominating car. The six-time race winner further elaborated on the need for both drivers to perform well in a team in order to ensure maximum points and better performances for the squad in general.
I believe that Max is at an incredibly high level. This season, in some races, he has been the one making the difference and winning races where he didn't have the car to win. Therefore, he is an incredible benchmark for me because he undoubtedly pushes you to the maximum. I’m not sitting here saying, "Well, it’s Max, and I won’t be able to beat him." I'm working hard to try to beat him every weekend.Sergio Perez via Mundo Deportivo

Sergio Perez had a good start to the season this year but has faced a sudden decline. However, the Mexican driver has shown the grid, time and again what he is capable of on his best days, and will be looking to tap into the same form in due time for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen claims Red Bull dominance will not return in Barcelona
Max Verstappen has shared his honest thoughts ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix regarding the performance of the Milton-Keynes outfit. Verstappen has been a winner on three occasions at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

No, I don't think it will be like the beginning of the season. We know that normally this is a track that our cars should suit a bit more and we're excited, of course.Max Verstappen via Motorsport
Verstappen is hoping for a fourth consecutive title at the end of the campaign. But, unlike the previous seasons, this year has brought stern competition between Red Bull, Ferrari, and McLaren, which has made the fight for the title quite challenging for the Dutchman.
The 26-year-old scored a hard-fought victory in Montreal and will look to continue this momentum in Barcelona as well. However, Red Bull must overcome the competence of Ferrari and McLaren who have been at the tail of the Milton-Keynes outfit all season in search of podiums and wins.
