Max Verstappen was extremely agitated by the unnecessary penalty at the Qatar GP qualifying. George Russell forced the FIA to look into the matter and penalize the Dutchman. As a result, Verstappen didn’t hesitate to give his piece of mind to the Briton ahead of the start of the race. F1 Pundit Ted Kravitz lifted the curtains on what the 27-year-old told to Russell.
Ted Kravitz revealed that Max Verstappen confronted George Russell in the drivers’ parade holding room. Kravitz believed that the Dutchman was still ‘seething’ following the untoward penalty. The pundit further pointed out that Verstappen made a snarky remark to Russell about the latter being happy with his buddies in the FIA.
Verstappen’s comments to Russell were much more ruder than what Kravitz had revealed to the public. The British reporter refused to make the actual comments public for some reason. The 50-year-old highlighted that this was the confrontation that Christian Horner was talking about in his quotes following the Dutchman’s stellar win in Qatar.
Max Verstappen asserted he lost ‘all respect’ for George Russell
Max Verstappen wasn’t trying to hide his anger in his comments following the penalty. The Dutchman claimed that the entire ordeal was very disappointing. The reason for this was that the drivers held mutual respect and didn’t try to screw each other over so much. Hence, witnessing such a move from Russell, Verstappen reckoned that he lost all respect that he held for the former.
Regardless of the situation in Qatar, Verstappen defied all odds and amassed the race wins. The 27-year-old took the lead of the race heading into Turn 1, leaving Russell in the dust. Hence, the Qatar GP was a great response from the Dutchman to all the haters and naysayers this season.
