Valtteri Bottas claims Lewis Hamilton signed for Ferrari to get ‘back to the top’ in F1
Lewis Hamilton has so far amassed a record seven F1 world championships.

Lewis Hamilton, the Mercedes F1 driver, has been competing for the team since 2013. After several glorious years, he is set to move to Ferrari from 2025 onward, and keeping this in view, his former teammate, Valtteri Bottas has shed light on the Brit’s thinking behind it.
Bottas and Lewis Hamilton were teammates at Mercedes from 2017-2021, and are still the best of friends in F1. The former was recently asked to share his thoughts on the 2025 move and he admitted that Hamilton’s decision to move to Ferrari is fueled by his desire to win.

The 39-year-old is one of the biggest names on the current F1 grid. None of the other drivers have the kind of pedigree he has as a driver and this is one of the main reasons why Fred Vasseur and Co. decided to bring Hamilton on board for 2025. The Brit also feels he would be again able to challenge for the world championship with a Ferrari underneath him.
Lewis Hamilton eyeing to find ‘more performance’ at British GP
While Valtteri Bottas has revealed why Hamilton has moved to Ferrari, the latter is currently busy with getting the W15 up to speed in Silverstone. After FP1 and FP2, the seven-time world champion feels there is work to be done.

The Mercedes F1 team has been on an upward trajectory since the Monaco GP. The up-turn in performance brought great rewards when George Russell triumphed in last week’s Austrian GP and Hamilton also brought in solid points by ending up in fourth.
Keeping in view the positivity that the Brackley-based team has been oozing, it will be fascinating to see how the rest of the British GP weekend will pan out for them. McLaren’s Lando Norris has even recently praised the German outfit for their solid pace in Silverstone.
