Things did not turn out to be pleasant for Charles Leclerc and Ferrari at the Singapore GP. Despite having great hopes heading into the race weekend, both Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton failed to fight for any significant results.

The Italian squad’s woes began early on the weekend, especially after they failed to clinch good qualifying results. Now, with just a P6 finish in Singapore, the Monegasque lashed out on the team radio following the team’s woes in pace.

Charles Leclerc was unable to fight for a pole position start for the Singapore GP, and could only achieve a P7 start for the race, right behind Lewis Hamilton. Despite positive feelings early on, Leclerc’s woeful outing in the Qualifying sessions meant that he was wary of the risks. The Monegasque had even berated the challenger’s performance in the Saturday sessions, calling the car undrivable.

The race pace at the Singapore GP was nothing to write a story about, as Charles Leclerc had no shot at moving up the pecking order since the beginning of the race. Lewis Hamilton also suffered from brake issues in the final stages of the race, causing him to lose his P6 position to Leclerc by the end of the race. During the in-lap, the Monegasque lost his cool and lashed out against the team’s struggles at the Marina Bay Circuit.

Charles Leclerc shouted that the team had no right to complain regarding Charles Leclerc’s race pace and his P6 finish. The 27-year-old further dropped an F-bomb while berating the team’s mediocre outing. Leclerc even lambasted the team’s habit of having to lift and coast the car for over 200m of the track distance, causing him to lose a lot of time against his rivals on track.

DONT EVEN COMPLAIN, FOR F**KS SAKE. WE ARE DOING 200M OF LICO (Lift and Coast) ALL THE TIME

Charles Leclerc shouted on the team radio.

Charles Leclerc reveals being ‘hurt’ by Ferrari’s Singapore GP results

Charles Leclerc has given it his all this year, but has remained unable to emerge victorious in any of the races so far. In the first 18 outings, Leclerc has only picked up five podium finishes and no race victories to write a story about.

Now, as the team loses its P2 spot to Mercedes and potentially even the third spot to Red Bull in the constructors’ championship, the 27-year-old reveals being hurt by the disappointing circumstances.

Speaking on the Singapore GP results, Charles Leclerc labeled his outing as ‘frustrating’. The Monegasque insisted that the team would take a good look at what is actually causing the problems recently. Leclerc berated having to do a lot of management throughout the race to maintain his P6 finish. The 27-year-old declared that the Scuderia was behind the top three teams, and this was a hurtful awakening for him.

Frustrating race. We’re going to analyse what happened. We weren’t in the right window, especially for the brakes. We had to do a lot of management — that’s how it was. The explanation is that we’re behind the three top teams… and that hurts.

Charles Leclerc said in a post-race interview

The 2025 season of Formula 1 has only six races to go now. Ferrari is holding onto their P3 spot by just a ten-point lead over Red Bull behind it. The Austrian constructor has achieved a great turnaround in results, and they will surely capitalize on the Italian squad’s mistakes in recent races. Hence, it will be interesting to see how the Reds manage to hold onto their P3 spot in the pecking order.
