Ferrari’s performance throughout the British GP weekend seemed strong from the get-go. Charles Leclerc topped the FP3 session and was on a great trajectory to fight for a pole position. However, come Saturday Qualifying, Leclerc could only manage a P6 start to the race with his local hero teammate, Lewis Hamilton, coming in P5. Due to this, the Monegasque wasn’t too impressed with himself and berated himself very heavily on the team radio.
Charles Leclerc‘s 2025 season has been nothing short of a disappointment. The Monegasque, despite possessing great skill and racing talent, is unable to bring home any race wins. Leclerc has only managed to achieve four podium finishes with no victories to write a story about. Now, it seems that the 27-year-old’s woes might go on for a little longer as he qualifies in P6 at the British GP and would have to work very hard to move up the pecking order.
Ferrari gave it their all this weekend as both drivers did their best with the equipment available. Leclerc suffered from yellow lap time sectors in his final run, which ultimately ruined his shot at the pole position. Due to this, the 27-year-old immediately took to the team radio and went on an R-rated rant.
Charles Leclerc cursed and abused himself repeatedly as FIA’s crackdown on drivers swearing on team radio has finally relaxed. The Monegasque criticized himself and called himself ‘f**king s**t’ after qualifying in just P6. The 27-year-old then repeated these words as he finally ended by claiming that he was nothing short of a disappointment and was nothing more than the curses he just spilled upon himself.
F**K. F**K. F**K. F**K. So f**king s**t I am. I am so f**king s**t. That’s all I am.
Charles Leclerc said on the team radio
🆑 FUCK. FUCK. FUCK. FUCK. So fucking shit I am. I am so fucking shit. That's all I am. pic.twitter.com/McnHbyKOAS

Charles Leclerc hopes for a ‘solution’ to Ferrari problems
Ferrari’s pace hasn’t seen a massive improvement all throughout the ground-effect era despite giving it their all in recent years. Despite bringing in multiple upgrade packages, the performance of the team has remained disappointing. Now, with the 2025 season halfway over already, Leclerc hopes that the Scuderia will figure out something more in the car and fix the issues.

Charles Leclerc asserted that there had to be some more performance in the car that was yet to be unlocked. However, Leclerc insisted that he never talked about it and it was maybe for the better that he didn’t speak much on it. Regardless, the 27-year-old laid out his hopes for the solution to come soon as he wouldn’t be able to remain so patient any longer.
No. There’s something more in the car, I never talked about it — and believe me, it’s better I don’t talk about it. Let’s hope the solution comes soon.
Charles Leclerc said in a post-session interview

Charles: “No. There’s something more in the car, I never talked about it — and believe me, it’s better I don’t talk about it. Let’s hope the solution comes soon.”
The 2025 season has peaked in excitement and competition amidst multiple teams and drivers. Although Ferrari’s pace has seen glimpses of improvement, they are yet to remain at the front of the pack. With just 12 races left now, it is upto the Italian outfit to figure out an immediate turnaround. Time will tell if the Scuderia manages to come out of the desperate performance slump and retain both drivers in their squad for the coming years.
