There’s nothing new in F1 drivers taking delivery of their new cars very often. Charles Leclerc recently added a new Ferrari car to his collection. While he is a Ferrari driver, the car is not a sponsored one. The Monegasque had purchased it for a whopping $900 thousand named as Ferrari SF90 straddle.
Charles Leclerc, just like other drivers, is a big car enthusiast. His passion for speed and performance is evident in his impressive car collection, which includes several high-performance vehicles, particularly Ferraris.
Leclerc’s SF90 is a testament to Ferrari’s engineering prowess and his discerning taste. The car’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with three electric motors delivers a combined output of 1016 horsepower.
While black is a popular color choice for luxury and performance cars, it’s worth noting that the specific reasons behind Leclerc’s preference for black Ferraris are personal. The car was also customized in black with his number 16 on it.
Regardless of the reason, it’s clear that Leclerc has a strong love for the Italian marque and its iconic designs. He took the delivery of his car in his hometown in Monaco, which is known for the presence of many such luxury cars.
Carlos Sainz expresses disappointment after two crashes at the Brazilian GP
The Brazilian GP was tough for the drivers, especially with the wet track. Charles Leclerc managed to perform decently overall, but teammate Carlos Sainz struggled. Sainz had a challenging weekend, finishing 13th in qualifying.
When Sainz tried to handle the wet conditions at Turn 2, he lost control of his Ferrari SF-24. The car slid off the track and crashed into the barrier, causing significant rear-end damage. Sunday’s race was unpredictable, with heavy rain making things even harder for Sainz.
Despite the difficult conditions, the 30-year-old made some progress through the field until lap 39. Unfortunately, another crash ended his race early, leaving him disappointed. It cost the team significant points to capitalize on, as Ferrari currently sits second in the constructors’ championship with 557 points.
