Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has shared his thoughts after a torrid run at the Las Vegas Grand Prix on Friday. The 27-year-old finished P17 in FP2, failing to find pace and balance with the RB20 around the Vegas street circuit.
Max Verstappen arrived in Las Vegas after claiming a stellar win at Interlagos a few weeks back. He now holds the lead in the drivers’ championship by 62 points. With only three races to go, the Dutchman now has an opportunity to claim the title if he wins this weekend.
However, the three-time world champion was distraught after a poor result in the first practice sessions on Friday. He complained of having no grip, citing the difficulty in notching suitable tire temperatures around the Vegas strip.

“It just feels massively tyre related. The balance of the car is not even that wrong. We have no grip, it’s like driving on driving on ice.”#LasVegasGP

Verstappen has now urged his team to find the issues within the car ahead of an important qualifying on Saturday. The final practice will hence determine how the Milton-Keynes-based team performs for the rest of the weekend.
Max Verstappen talks on his approach to overtaking in Formula 1
Max Verstappen is known to have been an aggressive driver since his early days at the pinnacle of motorsport. While the Duthcman has mostly been effective, some of his tactics have backfired massively on the track as well.
The three-time world champion has since talked regarding the approach to overtaking an opponent on track. He believes that rivals oftentimes do not try to overtake around the outside but instead seek to cut back in a different way altogether.
Many have criticized Verstappen for his mistakes at Austin and Mexico this season, but some have defended his intentions as well. Regardless, what binds all sections of people is a mutual sense of respect and appreciation for the Dutchman’s brilliance.
