Max Verstappen’s disastrous Italian GP highlighted just how far Red Bull has fallen from their early-season dominance. Starting seventh on the grid, the Dutchman only managed to finish the 53-lap race in P6. In a post-race interview, he explained that nothing seemed to go right with a peculiar smile.
Max Verstappen described the Italian GP as a race where he had to do damage control compared to the other drivers. He felt the race was dramatic and nothing went well for him. According to Verstappen, the car didn’t respond the way he wanted, the strategies didn’t work out, and the pit stop was a complete disaster. With a sarcastic smile on his face during the interview, he expressed his frustration, explaining that everything went wrong.
In terms of the others, this race was absolutely damage control. it was once again a dramatic race. nothing went good, the car didn't respond at all, didn't like the strategies, the pitstop was totally shit.Max Verstappen said
Max Verstappen explained that for most of the race, he had to drive with less power due to technical problems with the car. He felt that nothing went right during the race, which left him frustrated. However, in the video, he smiled ironically and sarcastically, almost unable to believe how badly everything had gone wrong. Verstappen even confessed that the winning the championship was no longer realistic.
Most of the race we had to drive with less power due to issues. so actually nothing went well!Max Verstappen added.
