Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton departs Mercedes at the end of 2024 after 13 glorious years with the team. He will join Ferrari to begin a new era in his career, hoping to land a record eighth title during his tenure.

Lewis Hamilton‘s contribution to the Brackley-based team has been nothing short of legendary. From his arrival in 2013, the Brit has led his team to eight consecutive constructors’ titles. The team has now planned a massive farewell for their superstar driver after the Abu Dhabi GP.

Mercedes trackside engineering director Andrew Shovlin has, however, mentioned that a good result for Hamilton in Abu Dhabi will be the best celebration of all. The 39-year-old, who has not had a fruitful run in 2024, hopes to make a final good impression in Mercedes this weekend.

I anticipated it would be difficult but massively underestimated how difficult it would be. It was straining on the relationship very early on; it took time for people to get past it.
