Carlos Sainz celebrated his home race by giving special merch to his fans before the start of the Grand Prix.

The 2024 Spanish GP is underway. The Barcelona race is the home Grand Prix for Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard his racing his home race for the fourth time since he joined Ferrari. Sainz managed to qualify for the sixth place on Saturday’s qualifying session.
Before the 2024 Spanish GP started, Carlos Sainz took a moment to greet his fans in the grandstand which is named after him. He greeted the crowd by launching Ferrari merchandise with a merch gun, aiming at fans in the grandstand. This gesture made the atmosphere festive and strengthened his bond with the supporters at his home race. The fans were seen cheering and showing their support for their local hero, making the event more special for local hero.
So far, Sainz has scored around 108 points for the team. Starting at sixth position in his home race is tough, but the Spaniard’s fans believe in his ability to perform better or even win the race and make it a memorable home event for him.

Carlos Sainz was at risk of a penalty after making contact with Charles Leclerc
The 2024 Spanish GP started with Charles Leclerc on fifth and Carlos Sainz on sixth position. Leclerc was ahead of Sainz until lap 3, where the Spaniard overtake Leclerc leaving no space for the Monegasque. The 26-year-old complained on the radio that Sainz was so close to Leclerc that they almost crashed. This would have ended the race for both Ferrari drivers, similar to what happened in Canada.
Carlos Sainz was recorded leaving the track and gaining an advantage by overtaking teammate Leclerc. Despite making the overtake, Sainz complained about Leclerc touching him from behind and causing a collision that pushed him off the track. He believed that Charles Leclerc had touched his rear wing during the incident. The Spaniard could’ve received a penalty for his doings, but FIA decided to take no action on that overtake.
No further investigation for Sainz for leaving a track and gaining an advantage.

Certainly, Carlos Sainz made a strange move to overtake Leclerc and went out of the track by fear of getting collided with the Monegasque. Fans are enjoying the thrilling action between both the drivers and rooting for their local hero to win the race.
