Red Bull driver Sergio Perez crashed out of qualifying in Budapest and will start in P16 for the upcoming 70-lap race. Perez has been knocked out of Q1 for the fourth time in the last six races.
Sergio Perez has been in shaky form for the Milton-Keynes outfit. Barring the first four-five races of the ongoing season, Perez has been on a massive downward spiral.
The 34-year-old has failed to perform consistently and has now scored only 11 points since the Canadian Grand Prix. Following his shunt in the Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying, Perez talked of his target to maximize his performance in the main race.
So far it's all looking like we will have the same, same car, you know which hopefully is the case and we can get through the field and get back to, yeah, and hopefully score some good points tomorrow. That will be the target.Sergio Perez said in an interview with redbullracing
The six-time race winner signed a contract extension with Red Bull earlier this season but has not been able to back the same. He will now hope to perform to the best of his abilities in order to finish his Budapest exploits with solid points.
Max Verstappen delivers upsetting assessment after Hungarian GP qualifying
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has shown his disappointment after qualifying in Budapest. Verstappen starts P3 on the grid behind the McLarens after missing out on pole by less than five-one hundredths of a second.
I'm really frustrated, because it's all just not good enough. In itself I don't think there was that much wrong with my lap, but the car is just not good enough, too sensitive and also really too slow.Max Verstappen told Viaplay
Max Verstappen claimed that the revamped RB20 still appeared to lack the pace against the roaring McLarens on Saturday. The 26-year-old then concluded that issues were not persistent with the car, but there was a major scope for improvement in its performance.
The three-time world champion chases the win in Hungary after missing out consecutively in Spielberg and Silverstone. He will now try to battle against the papayas in an attempt to overtake them during the opening stages of the Hungarian GP.
