Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz has had a special relationship with the entire team since 2021. The Spaniard feels that mechanics should be deemed as the heroes of Formula 1 rather than the drivers.
Carlos Sainz is set to bid an emotional goodbye to the Maranello-based team after the Abu Dhabi GP this week. He will join Williams Racing from 2025 onwards, hoping to forge a new legacy with them. The 30-year-old driver has been in fine form, winning twice and securing eight podiums this season.
Sainz talked about the passion and grit required to become a mechanic at the Maranello-based team. He had immense praise for his crew and promised to be connected with them even after their departure.
For me the mechanics are among the heroes of this sport. One thing I will miss about Ferrari is the mechanics. They have an incredible passion. They follow the race, they understand the strategy, and in Maranello some of them know them. I will remain friends with them.

Ferrari is currently chasing the constructors’ championship heading into the final race of the calendar. Having not won it since 2008, Sainz will look to give his best efforts in his final race and that dought.
Carlos Sainz shares his thoughts on Ferrari’s chances ahead of the Abu Dhabi GP
McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull, and Mercedes headline the top four spots in the constructors’ championship this season. Heading into the final race of the season, all four teams will share a common goal, which is to win the race.

Carlos Sainz feels that the Yas Marina circuit is well suited to all of the top four teams in Formula 1. He then stated that the long straights and the 90 corners are best suited to Ferrari’s advantage this weekend.
I think this track is well suited to each of the four best cars in the group: it’s got straights and 90-degree corners that suit us, but there are also some high-speed corners and long sections that are well suited to the McLaren and Red Bull. And we are racing at night, which, as we know, works well for Mercedes. That’s why I think taking care of every small detail could make the difference, and so it will be important to make the most of the track time in free practice.
