The Sauber-run Alfa Romeo F1 team recently made a significant announcement. The Swiss team decided to do away with the position of Team Principal entirely. As it formed a new role of Team Representative, to be undertaken by Alessandro Alunni Bravi. Bravi is a relatively lesser-known figure in the F1 paddock. However, the Italian manager is no stranger to the sport, as he has been a part of Sauber since 2017.

Alessandro Alunni Bravi will continue to be the Managing Director of Sauber Group, a post he has held since 2022. Thus, this appointment further increases his influence at the team. Bravi’s new position comes under the leadership of the new Sauber CEO, Andreas Seidl. Seidl joined the Swiss squad after serving Team Principal of McLaren. These shake-ups at Alfa Romeo are a sign of the team’s preparation before Audi’s entry in 2026.

Bravi is an Italian lawyer and manager. Alessandro’s career in motorsport spans two decades. He started out in Formula 3000 as Team Manager and Managing Director of Coloni Motorsport. Bravi was born in the Italian town of Umbertide in Italy, before moving to Passignano sul Trasimeno. Interesting this commune was the home of Coloni Motorsport. However, Bravi departed the team a year later.

Alessandro Alunni Bravi switched to WRC Rally Italia Sardinia as General Manager for a stint of years. Following this, Bravi moved to GP2 as he headed Trident Racing for the team’s debut in the series. Later on, the Italian worked as General Counsel for a few teams in junior racing categories such as ART Grand Prix and Spark Racing. Additionally, Bravi even founded his own firm in 2016.

Trusted Talent Management, a management firm established by Bravi has some big names as its clients. The firm manages former F1 drivers such as Robert Kubica and even the 2021-22 Formula E world champion, Stoffel Vandoorne. Though, presently, Alessandro Alunni Bravi’s focus lies with the Sauber Group. Alessandro joined the Swiss team in 2017 as General Counsel and was even a Board Member.

In 2022, Bravi was promoted to Managing Director before finally being appointed as Team Representative under Andreas Seidl‘s leadership. On the personal side of things, Alessandro Alunni Bravi lives a happy married life and has one son. Although no further information is available about the Bravi family. Alessandro is a graduate of the University of Perugia with an Honors degree in Law. He even worked as an assistant professor for a short period of time.
