The Dutch GP weekend showcased Lando Norris and McLaren’s exceptional performance. Norris dominated the race, finishing nearly 23 seconds ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. This impressive margin highlights Norris’s skill and McLaren’s formidable speed and race strategy. However, Zak Brown highlights something else as the icing on the cake for their victory.

Zak Brown was highly impressed by Lando Norris’s performance in Zandvoort. However, he noted that teammate Oscar Piastri was also very fast but he struggled to show his potential due to the dirty air from the cars ahead. He expressed great satisfaction with the team’s result and highlighted that Norris setting the fastest lap on the final lap was the perfect finishing touch. This made their victory even more impressive and now the team hopes to win the next eight-races.

It was a fantastic race and the performance by Lando Oscar was also very fast, I think more than he showed, but he was always behind dirty air. I am very happy with the team result, and Lando's fastest lap on the last lap was the icing on the cake.

Zak Brown admits Oscar Piastri’s race was compromised in Zandvoort

Zak Brown revealed that Oscar Piastri’s race was compromised by a series of factors. Piastri lost his chance for a podium finish right from the start by dropping a position. He remained behind George Russell and Charles Leclerc due to their superior pit strategies, and he struggled to overtake them. Additionally, the 23-year-old couldn’t get clean air when he needed it to maximize the performance of his fresh tires. Therefore, staying out too long on track further affected his race negatively.
