The 2024 season peaked in controversies and excitement, especially amongst the top teams. Max Verstappen and Zak Brown recently had a war of words started by the latter doubting the Dutchman’s capabilities. Hence, with the drivers’ championship battle being done and dusted, Brown recalled the quotes and provided a feisty response to the 27-year-old driver.
Zak Brown continued to closely comment on the happenings regarding Red Bull, especially Max Verstappen. Due to this, the Dutchman had sarcastically questioned who Brown even was in one of the interviews. The Englishman finally responded to these comments and re-introduced himself. The 53-year-old commented that Verstappen might not know him but the latter solely managed the McLaren group.
Apart from the war of words, Verstappen also put forth his blunt piece of mind over other issues in the sport. Upon this, Brown reckoned that the Dutchman had a good sense of humor to make such claims. However, the Englishman highlighted that it was a shame that people misjudged the former and talked negatively about him following the comments.
Zak Brown’s take on Lando Norris losing championship battle to Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen amassed his fourth drivers’ championship this season after leaving Lando Norris in the dust. McLaren, despite having the fastest chassis, was of no match to Verstappen’s skills. Hence, Zak Brown believed that the team didn’t need to dwell on the issues or slag people off any longer than necessary. The Briton was confident to try again for the championship in the 2025 season alongside Norris.
The constructors’ championship is yet to be decided as Ferrari continues to inch closer (21-point gap to McLaren). The season finale is slated to take place this week with a massive end-of-the-season battle in the works. Hence, the Abu Dhabi GP will be an extremely fascinating affair as both Ferrari and McLaren will try their best to outperform one another.
