Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has backed McLaren to continue their good run of form in the upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Papayas have amassed 438 points so far and are second in the constructors’ championship this season.

McLaren has had a formidable rebuild over the past 15 months, which has seen them emerge as one of the most worthy title contenders. The team’s MCL38 has shown consistency and reliability regardless of the track or conditions this season.

Keeping their strong outings in view, Guenther Steiner has pipped McLaren to outpace its rivals and claim the top spots at Baku on Sunday. The team will, however, face tough competition from the likes of Red Bull and Ferrari.

McLaren will have to opt for a different spec given the incredibly aerodynamic nature of the Baku City circuit. The main race on Sunday has all the ingredients for it be a must-see spectacle.
