Mercedes’ 7-time world champion British driver Lewis Hamilton has initiated a direct attack on Mercedes following yet again another tactic screwup that permitted teammate George Russell to pass him at the inaugural Miami Grand Prix.

Newly recruited Mercedes driver George Russell continued to improve from 12th on the grid to fifth, one place ahead of Hamilton, who was left to suffer in the fifth Grand Prix of the season due to yet another tactical error behind the safety car. Russell took the risk of rejoining the track just behind Hamilton, who was proficiently a soft target on old tyres due to the late safety car situation.

Post the conclusion of the Miami Grand Prix in the latest street track of America, Mercedes teammates Lewis Hamilton and George Russell had absolutely polar things to say about the race which was to no one’s surprise given the blunder the Brackley-based racing team committed on Hamilton’s part of the race.

Lewis Hamilton was visibly raging over how due to a bungle in the radio team, he had to allow his teammate to pass him which he felt was unjustified given how the race was playing out. This was the second time such a situation happened after the same occurred in the Australian Grand Prix this season.

“In that scenario, I have no clue where everyone is. So when the teams says it’s your choice I don’t have the information to make that decision. That’s what your job is. You got all the details. Today they gave it to me. I don’t understand it,” added Hamilton after the race was over in an interview with reporters.

The record 7-time world champion will look forward to going back to winning ways in the next Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya after having a tumultuous first 5 races this season with absolutely minimal improvement as compared to the likes of rivals Ferrari and Red Bull who are at a much better place compared to Mercedes this season.
