Jeff Hardy‘s time at AEW is headed towards a disillusioned end. One-half of The Hardy Boyz joined the Tony Khan-owned promotion back in 2022 and just never got going. And now, Fightful Select has the lead in regards to Jeff’s potential departure. Per the outlet, his AEW contract hasn’t been extended up to 2025 due to injury and sabbatical time, as some had believed.
Moreover, The Charismatic Enigma told fellow talent at recent conventions that his deal was up sometime in the spring season. It was also noted that AEW could likely extend the time on Jeff’s remaining dates. Though, it is yet to happen. The 46-year-old last competed back in February during an episode of AEW Rampage. It didn’t bode well for the North Carolina native as he suffered a broken nose after Sammy Guevara botched a shooting star press on Hardy.
Back in December, Jeff Hardy expressed resentment at how he’s been treated in the Jacksonville-based promotion. What started off initially as an exciting prospect for him had turned over a new leaf. And by that time, Hardy had started to feel like he’s some ghost walking around backstage. His elder brother, Matt Hardy, has also been a hot topic of late.
This past weekend at TNA Rebellion pay-per-view, The Sensai of Mattitude made a surprise appearance. After reprising his Broken One gimmick, the 49-year-old stated that he’s still a free agent and hasn’t signed with TNA just yet. There’s a growing hope among wrestling fans that they might see Hardys back in business as a unit one last time in WWE.
Fans back Jeff Hardy for one last run before hanging up his boots
As expected, the fans have already started daydreaming of Jeff Hardy’s renewed run in WWE if he does return. There’s a ton of exhilarating responses to dive in and they’re stated below.
A fan said that Brother Nero would be a good challenger for Cody Rhodes‘ WWE title. One even noted that there’s no point in re-signing Jeff to AEW.
A fan even manifested Hardy to be inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame next year. Arguments were also made in favor of Matt and Jeff going back to TNA.
Furthermore, the former recently noted that he’s had talks with WWE, leaving fans to believe that the Triple H-led regime might consider bringing back the Rainbow Haired Warrior as well. One optimistic fan said that if Jeff’s healthy by all means, that one last dance with CM Punk would be fun.
