“Who made this fraud a** list”- Wrestling fans baffled by egregious rankings on this year’s PWI Top 250 women list, Rhea Ripley misses out on No. 1 spot
PWI has ranked 250 women in their latest issue of the magazine. Many top WWE names have dropped down with Rhea Ripley holding the fort.

It’s that time of the year once again. The Pro Wrestling Illustrated has released its 2024 rankings for the top 250 female wrestlers across various promotions. Leading the pack this time around is none other than the “Timeless” Toni Storm, who’s been on a career-defining run of late. Landing the 2nd spot is reigning Impact Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace. Last year’s table topper, Rhea Ripley, is next, who’s dropped down a couple of spots to be ranked #3.
Rhea’s arch-nemesis Liv Morgan failed to be inside the top 10, as she’s ranked number 12. Other notable inclusions have current NXT Superstar Stephanie Vaquer at 5. Multi-time WWE Women’s Champion Bayley isn’t too far down at 7. Reigning AEW Women’s Champion Mariah May closed it out on the 9th spot that resonates with her breakout year in All Elite Wrestling.
Last year’s #2 Giulia has taken a massive dip as she’s placed just outside of the top 20 this year. Iyo Sky, whom many had predicted to finish within the top 5, had to settle with #13. But that’s just the way it is. The annual PWI rankings, be it for men or women, are highly subjective in nature.
They adhere to a certain criteria for assigning these wrestlers a number they feel would be best suited to honor their year-long accolades. This year’s no. 1, Toni Storm, recently lost the AEW Women’s title to her longtime ally-turned-rival, Mariah May.
It culminated in one of the best storylines the company has put forth. Whereas Rhea Ripley, WWE’s top feature on that list, has been a real asset for the company. She main evented the Elimination Chamber in Perth. One rarely sees women being deployed in such high-profile scenarios.
Fans ridicule the contentious PWI rankings as names like Iyo Sky creamed off the top
As already mentioned, the PWI rankings are subjective; hence, they always tend to ensue a discourse among the fans. That applies to the 2024 edition as well. Those on social media argued that the rankings don’t do justice to most of the lowly-ranked women.

Iyo Sky‘s name is being tossed around in circles, refuting her 13th spot. Another woman who the fans feel was robbed is current NXT Champion, Roxanne Perez. Despite being hailed by many as one of the best-performing champions that brand has ever seen, she missed out on the elusive top 10 feature by a whisker, finishing 11th.
Trolls came hard at Mercedes Mone as well for being not up there. However, it’s worth mentioning that she was injured for the better part of 2023. She debuted in AEW earlier this year, in March only.
