It might take a while for the dust to settle on what transpired during the dying minutes of this year’s Royal Rumble PLE. On a night where John Cena was an odds-on favorite to punch his ticket to WrestleMania, he finished as the runner-up. The man who pushed him off the apron is none other than Jey Uso.

The 11-time tag team champion will now get his spot in the main event of WrestleMania 41. He has also declared the world champion is going to go after. A week ago, at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Uso lost fair and square to Gunther. That extended the Austrian 3-0 win/loss record on the Anoa’i family member. But it seems like they’re about to run it back.

The Yeet Master mentioned during the post-show press conference that he’d like to have one more crack at The Ring General. And this time around, Jey is confident about beating Gunther. Circling back to the 30-man Royal Rumble match, there were some epic moments to look back on.

The OTC mixed it up with a litany of big-time names such as John Cena, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, and even Jacob Fatu. Punk threw both Roman and Seth out in tandem. Shortly after that, Logan Paul shattered Punk’s dreams to a cascade of boos. John Cena dumped the IMPAULSIVE host to the floor but eventually got ousted by Uso.

Fans trash WWE’s decision of Jey Uso as the Royal Rumble winner

The moment Jey Uso got the job done, Lucas Oil Stadium came unglued. There might’ve been some angry faces, but they got eclipsed by a tsunami of “yeeters,” with Uso leading the charge.

However, the way the internet has reacted to it is completely dichotomous. The netizens are incensed at the sight of Jey pointing at that WrestleMania sign. There were a lot of dissident fans who seemed to concur that while Uso is a likeable character, letting him headline a WrestleMania is too much of a stretch.

One even labeled the 39-year-old as the worst Rumble match winner since Alberto Del Rio in 2011. Of course, the discourse around John Cena‘s fate is prevalent. There’s also a ton of rancour circling CM Punk’s early exit from the match.
