WWE’s Elimination Chamber PLE on Saturday night in Toronto was a rendezvous of when pop culture met pro wrestling. A number of mainstream rappers were on hand, including local boy Drake. He was sitting in the front row just beside the commentary desk. But what was a surprise to many was the fact that WWE did not once acknowledge his presence.

Some other rappers who made their presence known were Lil Yachty, Baka Not Nice, and Nav. However, Drake’s snub was something that gained a slew of traction from the netizens. He’s been muffled in the cosmos of controversy for a while now. His years-old beef with Kendrick Lamar recently escalated at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

Lamar’s halftime show rendition of ‘Not Like Us’ saw the latter’s reported ex and tennis doyenne Serena Williams crip walk to the Drake-aimed diss track of Lamar. The Canadian rapper clapped back by posting an old picture with Serena’s former agent, Jill Smoller. Nonetheless, it seemed like the Champagne Papi was just there to enjoy the WWE PLE last night.

He bore witness to one of the greatest swerves-cum-heel turns in WWE history. 16-time World Champion John Cena joined forces with The Rock to gang up on Cody Rhodes—an epic beatdown that featured a cameo from Travis Scott as well. It was hailed as an epic way to close the night and make the fans crave more.

Other results from the show saw Bianca Belair overcome a Jade Cargill onslaught on Naomi to win the women’s Elimination Chamber match. Trish Stratus and Tiffany Stratton also breezed past Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. Meanwhile, in a battle of former best friends-turned-rivals, Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn, which set the stage for Randy Orton‘s return.

Fans react to Drake’s Elimination Chamber appearance going unnoticed

The peeps online were as nimble as they come to catch that WWE no-sold Drake at the Elimination Chamber. It got people talking on social media, with many claiming that the 38-year-old rapper’s credibility has nosedived of late.

One user wrote that he’s a laughing stock these days. Drake was also called out for resorting to legal action in his ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar. A number of comments advocated for the Canuck’s privacy, adding that he probably didn’t want to be shown on screen.

It’d be interesting to see if WWE voluntarily invites him to any of its upcoming premium live events with WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas a potential landing spot.
