Fans were left both enraged and disappointed after Spanish prodigy Lamine Yamal was seen limping off due to an injury against Denmark. The 17-year-old forward complained of muscular discomfort, during a UEFA Nations League encounter for Spain.
It seems evidently clear that 17-year-old Lamine Yamal has been subjected to extreme pressure, having started in almost all of Barcelona and Spain’s matches this season. He was seen exhausted as he left the pitch in the 93rd minute of Spain’s 1-0 win over Denmark. He was a target of repeated fouls and rough tackles by the Danish side and looked in discomfort as he sustained a muscle injury in his left leg. This recent injury is expected to keep him out of Spain’s upcoming crucial match against Serbia.
Yamal was limping off with difficulty as he passed the mixed zone of the stadium, and team doctors are said to have analysed him after he arrived at the training ground the next morning. The young La Masia graduate, who most recently won the 2024 Euros with Spain, risks a long-term injury if he continues to play without a break. Barca have already scheduled a meeting with Spanish officials for information on Yamal’s injury with some sources, claiming it to be an effect of muscular fatigue.

Meanwhile, Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente stated that the rough tackles on Yamal are a simple natural part of football and he had to get used to them. It remains to be seen what lies ahead for the Spaniard, who is the youngest player to be nominated for the Ballon d’Or.
Fans slam Barcelona and Spain for overworking young forward Lamine Yamal, after injury against Denmark
Football fans took to social media to criticize FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team for overworking Lamine Yamal. The 17-year-old young forward was seen limping off the stadium against Denmark.
Some fans angrily stated that teams and their managers should keep in mind that Yamal is still a young kid. Other fans stated that the two teams might ruin the player’s talents, comparing him to the likes of fellow La Masia stars, Pedri and Gavi. An Arsenal fan humorously claimed that not every player can handle that much load like Englishman Bukayo Saka. Here are some of the reactions:
