It has been a rough start for Julian Alvarez at Atletico Madrid, as the Argentine sensation has somehow misfired time and time again, despite being a part of all the three games that Madrid has played in this season. The Argentine stalwart was at his expressive best in the Manchester city threads under the chaperonage of Pep Guardiola. However, he is still to get his scoring boots on for the Spanish giants.

The sad part for Alvarez is that he is a lot more under the radar because of the shaky start that Atletico Madrid has got in the latest edition of the La Liga. The stats for Julian Alvarez aren’t exactly promising enough as he has been a part of three matches while failing to find the back of the net even for once.

Even his goal-contributions aren’t exactly great as he has failed to register any assist either. More to add to his woes, he was at the receiving end of a brilliant goal-scoring chance and he squandered that away.

His solitary impact on the equation currently includes a shot on target. For a player of Alvarez’s caliber, the fans have lofty expectations and upon not meeting them, the hate is soaring through the skies.

Alvarez started his senior career for River Plate and was a part of the club for four staggering years. Following his impressive run at the former, Manchester City came knocking and the Argentine wunderkind was a part of 67 appearances for the Cityzens, netting 20 goals and playing the perfect companion to Erling Haaland‘s madness. However, since his transfer from City, Alvarez has been still scouring desperately for his scoring boots.

Here’s what X had to say about the poor start to the season for Julian Alvarez

Atletico Madrid has had an extremely shaky start to the season as they have drawn two out of the three encounters that they have been a part of. They kickstarted the season with a 2-2 stalemate against Villarreal. They trailed twice in the opening fixture as Arnaut Danjuma and Koke (own goal) scored for the latter while Marcos Llorente and Alexander Sorloth equalized for Madrid.

They returned to winning ways against Girona with Antoine Griezmann, Marcos Llorente and Koke finding the back of the net. However, with their latest goalless draw against Espanyol, the fans have started focusing on Julian Alvarez, spewing some razor-sharp vitriol for the Argentine.

However, knowing Alvarez, he can always be an instrumental asset to any team only if he gets his going right. It is understandable that the Argentine is suffering from the baptism by fire but the lofty standards that he brings to the game is somewhat irrefutable.
