“Most boring champ in the company”- WWE fans miffed as Liv Morgan retains her women’s world title against Iyo Sky despite bloody nose at Saturday Night’s Main Event

Liv Morgan didn't stumble against a more nimble Iyo Sky at Saturday Night's Main Event as there was no title change.

The Liv Morgan world tour sailed through Iyo Sky at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and it’s still intact. The match began on a fairly high note with both superstars trading in dropkicks. Sky caught Morgan on the ring apron and delivered a Moonsault on the champ to the outside. Back from a commercial, the challenger could be seen stomping on her foe.

Iyo Sky followed it up with a Suicide Dive and a Double Missile Dropkick but to no avail. Morgan fought back only to be planted with a trinity of German Suplexes. Iyo fumbled while going for a high-risk maneuver off the ropes, and Liv took advantage of it. The ending came off as a bit shocking to many when the Judgment Day member pinned the Damage CTRL member clean as a whistle after an Oblivion.

Afterwards, when Morgan was walking off with Raquel Rodriguez and Dominik Mysterio, the women’s world champion was visibly worn out. A hint of blood was seeping out of her nose. It must’ve come off a spot where Sky nailed Liv right above her jaw with a vicious knee strike.

Nonetheless, that couldn’t fetch The Genius of the Sky the gold. Just when Morgan and crew were about to exit the arena, Rhea Ripley‘s music sent the crowd into a frenzy. She stared down Liv for a while as the latter held her women’s strap up high.

It’s clear as daylight that WWE is leaning toward a rematch between the two. It doesn’t seem like they’ll stretch it out until WrestleMania 41. With the Raw Netflix premiere coming up in three weeks time, Morgan and Ripley may duke it out for the ultimate prize at the Intuit Dome in Las Vegas on January 6.

Fans believe Iyo Sky should’ve dethroned Liv Morgan for the title

Having been put right after the opening match, Liv Morgan and Iyo Sky put on a decent show. But not to a point that could please most of the fans on social media. Some of them felt that they were given less time to work with.

Almost everyone lamented the predictable nature of the bout. Even though it was a statement-making win for Morgan, fans believe it should’ve been Sky’s night. One even dubbed the former Riott Squad member as the most boring champion in WWE right now.

That said, this match was one of those rare occasions when Liv didn’t cheat. Despite messing up her nose, she rallied past the finish line. She’s now lined up for a rematch against Rhea Ripley. Last time they met, Mami got screwed over by Liv’s cohort, Raquel Rodriguez, at Bad Blood.
