Jannik Sinner was cleared of all wrongdoing after testing positive for a banned substance twice earlier this year. After the news broke out, many fans were outraged at how he avoided suspension without any fight.
During the Indian Wells Masters in March, Sinner tested positive for Clostebol, a metabolite that is on the list of banned substances. After that, he again tested positive eight days later in an out-of-competition sample.
Clostebol is an anabolic agent prohibited at all times under Section S1 of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List. Interestingly, San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. was suspended by Major League Baseball after he tested positive for the same substance.
The International Tennis Integrity Agency confirmed the news on Tuesday (August 20) and stated that Sinner was provisionally suspended initially. However, the Italian successfully appealed and was allowed to keep competing on the ATP Tour.
Fans wonder how Jannik Sinner escaped scrutiny while others, like Simona Halep, struggled to clear her name
While fans were surprised to hear the news of Jannik Sinner’s positive drug tests and a short provisional suspension, many wondered how the news stayed quiet till now. Some even wondered how the Italian was able to get a clean chit swiftly while other players, like Simona Halep recently, have struggled to clear their names.
One fan stated that the news of Sinner’s positive doping results and getting cleared of all wrongdoing quickly must have infuriated Halep.

Here are some more fan reactions to the same:
There needs to be an investigation on why there is a coverup and this was not known to the public until TODAY. Not a good look at all.

Let's just remember what they did to Simona Halep.

Double standards.
A billionth of a gram may sound like nothing however the problem is that means that much more was in his system at some point

For me, something like this has to be made available to the public at the time of the failed test.

Contamination or not, transparency is so important and it’s ridiculous that we’re only finding this out months later
Lol tennis will never punish their golden boys Sinner or Alcaraz but they are both juicing. Just like it's obvious the big 3 are all on something. Not a big deal just enjoy the ride

With his recent supposed injuries and the timing of the release, I smell cover up.

And they took how long to deal with the Halep situation? Clear example of establishment favouritism if anything

Only wow! This clearly show that some players can do whatever they want if they fit media narrative

Wondering why this was kept a secret!

Was this the real reason he didn’t play in the Olympics?
The International Tennis Integrity Agency suspended Halep in September 2023 for four years following breaches of the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme. She appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and a hearing in February this year saw her four-year ban reduced to nine months. This allowed her to return to action immediately.
