Over the past few days, Stephen Curry has shed not only his sickness, but also Under Armour, after it was announced that the sportswear brand was splitting ties with the Warriors superstar.

The news came out as a lightning bolt, as no one thought they would split. After all, the 37-year-old was the reason for their surge in the basketball sneaker market, and many felt the company would suffer. The split also meant that Curry was now open to wear anything he likes. With freedom in his hands, the superstar decided to honor the late Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi Bryant.

While warming up for their game against the San Antonio Spurs, Stephen Curry was pictured lacing up in the “Mambacita” Nike Kobe 6s. The point guard went through his shoot-around wearing those sneakers before eventually changing for his signature Curry brand shoes.

There is a reason why he chose to revert to his own brand shoes, as that is what he is trying to pitch to his next sneaker partner. However, he did what he wanted as he pulled out the Mambacita’s for warmups. Those sneakers are highly desired collectibles, as they are designed to feature both the late Los Angeles Lakers superstar on one shoe and his daughter on the other.

It seems Curry was waiting for the right time to break them out, and decided to pay homage to the two who died in a helicopter crash, even though he has several other legendary pieces.

Fans go through the emotions watching Stephen Curry play in Nike Kobe’s

Basketball fans knew the plethora of sneaker brands would be lining up to sign Stephen Curry to their lineup of signature athletes. Despite that, no one expected him to switch to another brand this early.

It is not as if Nike has signed him, but fans still could not believe the Golden State Warriors superstar decided to pay homage to Kobe Bryant in the best way possible. Check out examples of those reactions below.

Stephen Curry is now free to choose whatever sneaker deal he wants to pursue. Whoever wishes to sign him will also have to figure out how to bring Curry Brand into the fold, as that alone has a few athletes signed on.

‘God’ bless Stephen Curry in 49-point explosion against Spurs

Other than the fact that he broke out the special edition Kobe 6s, Stephen Curry was coming off a superlative 46-point performance against the San Antonio Spurs a couple of nights ago.

In the 2nd of their games against their same opponents, the superstar went 3 better. He tormented Victor Wembanyama and his teammates with his electric movement and scoring, finishing with 49 points in their win.

After the game, even if the father of 4 tried to give his teammates credit, head coach Steve Kerr decided someone had to say something about their top scorer. When he asked one of the younger players to say something, Draymond Green called out Jackson Rowe.

God just blessed Steph man.

Jackson Rowe said

Hearing this, the entire away locker room broke out into a bout of laughter. The undrafted forward was accurate in saying that after a sick Curry struggled in a few games, he was back at his best.
