A former WWE Women's Champion is in the running to face Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 41 in a match that has been years-in-the-making.

As WWE marches ahead on its road to WrestleMania 41, the company is starting to put the creative plans in motion for the show. Fans are already aware of the company’s ambitious route for Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton. Likewise, the other women’s title feud for Mania has been discussed of late. And, per Fightful Select, it’s Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair.
The report has come at a time when the majority of fans were projecting Iyo Sky in that role. The Genius of the Sky is one of the top contenders to win this year’s Royal Rumble match. That’d propel her to a significant spot on the WrestleMania card. However, with WWE envisioning Belair against Rhea, the dynamics could change.
Mami recently regained the women’s world title from Liv Morgan. They were after each other for months, and the rivalry culminated on the Netflix premiere of Raw. The eyes would now be pinned on Rhea as she looks to remain unscathed en route to WWE’s biggest show of the year. But before that, the former Judgment Day member has a bullet to dodge tomorrow night.
The 28-year-old Aussie will take on Nia Jax at Saturday Night’s Main Event. It’ll mark Rhea’s first title defense since winning it back a couple of weeks ago. If Ripley does get through, she’ll be looking closely at 30 women who are slated to vie it out at the Royal Rumble.
Mami’s opponent for WrestleMania will be known by the Elimination Chamber if not next Saturday. She does boast of an impressive singles haul at The Show of Shows. The Adelaide-born wrestler hasn’t been pinned at Mania outside of her debut against Charlotte Flair in 2020.
Fans on board with Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair; clamor for Iyo Sky’s inclusion though
Since the cat was let out of the bag, the wrestling fans have been all over it. The reported Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair proposition at WrestleMania does excite the masses, as evident by the following reactions. Many have billed it as the right move and something that’s been long overdue for both women.
However, there are a few concerns. Most of the folks believe that Ripley vs. Belair should main event. But that looks like a long shot from happening with the likes of John Cena, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Cody Rhodes in the running to close out both nights of WrestleMania 41.
Also, as mentioned above, there’s a section of fans who believe that WWE should pick Iyo Sky over The EST against Ripley this year. Moreover, Bianca could line herself up for a WrestleMania program stemming from the storyline concerning Jade Cargill‘s mystery attacker.
