The dispute between Conor McGregor and Mike Perry following Perry’s loss to Jake Paul last July had gone viral on social media. We now have a follow-up on the drama. It looks like ‘The Notorious’ was not kidding when he declared that he had fired Mike Perry from BKFC. Here is what happened:
After Mike Perry lost to Jake Paul via knockout, McGregor, who had recently become part-owner of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), publicly announced Perry’s release from the promotion. Now, not everyone took the words of the Irish superstar seriously, not even Mike Perry himself. However, Conor McGregor recently responded to a fan’s question on X about Mike Perry’s firing from BKFC. McGregor sarcastically hinted that Perry’s departure from the organization was indeed real.
When the news of Perry’s sacking first came out, the BKFC star fired back. He asserted that McGregor does not have the authority to release him. Perry reasoned that he could not be fired as he too had ownership in BKFC. However, McGregor was quick to refute Perry’s claim. In a since-deleted post, McGregor clarified that Perry’s ownership is not in BKFC but rather in Triller, a social media app.
He emphasized that Perry held no stake in BKFC and that he had been removed from the promotion. Mike Perry had solidified his position as one of the top names in bare-knuckle boxing, boasting a flawless record of 5-0. Despite Perry’s successful career in BKFC, with notable victories over fighters like Michael ‘Venom’ Page, Eddie Alvarez, and Luke Rockhold, McGregor made it clear that Perry was no longer part of the BKFC roster.
