In all the seriousness that cricket happens in today’s world, somehow good old-school banters are turning into a thing of the past. However, enlivening up the very serious T20 World Cup, two of the best buddies in cricket currently, Rashid Khan and Fazalhaq Farooqi pulled off an incredible stunt that compelled Ian Bishop to seek clarification.
In the post-match presentation against Papua New Guinea, Farooqi, who won the Player of the Match award, was talking to Ian Bishop. While heaping praises on the Afghan cricket team, Farooqi suddenly said “You shut up” to which Bishop very astonishingly sought out was it for him or not.
Instantly clarifying his remark, Farooqi said that the remark was actually for the captain of Afghanistan and his very close buddy Rashid Khan. Slightly astonished at what was going on, Bishop did state that their nation is proud of their performances so far.
However, Farooqi clarified that Rashid was trying to make him laugh and that is what propelled him to go forward with the aforementioned statements. Both him and Rashid Khan share a very good bond amongst themselves and they have been delivering day in day out for their national team.
