Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are expected to win more Grand Slam titles in the future but Canadian tennis ace Felix Auger-Aliassime urges other rivals to stop these two from winning more Majors.

Alcaraz won four Majors (two Wimbledon titles, one French Open, and one US Open), while the Italian, last season, added the Australian Open and the US Open to his trophy cabinet.

Alcaraz and Sinner haven’t yet started their campaign for the 2025 season. When they will land in Melbourne, between them, Sinner will be the heavy favorite because he will be defending his crown. Although Alcaraz has never progressed to the semifinals in Melbourne, he completed a rare feat last year by clinching the Channel Slam.

If they continue to dominate on the tour, particularly in Majors, then it will give headaches to other youngsters, which is why Auger-Aliassime said he and other players somehow have to stop Alcaraz and Sinner from winning every Major.

There is a sense of urgency in a way if we want to stay in touch with them. Alcaraz is at four Grand Slams now and then [Jannik Sinner] at two. There is a sense of urgency, like okay you can’t let them win more, if they do, congrats to them but they will just start pulling away. Let’s try not to let them win every Slam from now on.

Felix Auger-Aliassime said during an interview with The Slice Tennis

While Alcaraz edges the 24-year-old 4-3 in their head-to-head encounter, the latter is 2-0 over Sinner. Auger-Aliassime in Grand Slam events has never played the final, as he gave his best in Major when he reached the semifinal of the 2021 US Open.

Lorenzo Musetti claims Jannik Sinner is a step ahead of everyone else

Jannik Sinner in 2024 was the most successful player with eight titles on the ATP Tour. Compatriot Lorenzo Musetti, who enjoyed his career’s best season in 2024 by reaching three finals, the Wimbledon semifinal, and claiming the Olympic bronze, warned others to never write off Novak Djokovic in Majors but believes compatriot Sinner is ahead of the Serb and others.

He [Djokovic] is a danger for everybody – for Jannik, for Sascha [Alexander Zverev], and for Carlos Alcaraz. Last year, Jannik showed he was one step ahead of everyone else, he had such an incredible season. But Novak is always dangerous and he knows a little bit about how to play on those Grand Slam courts and in those conditions.

Lorenzo Musetti said (via South China Morning Post)

Djokovic, in his first tournament in 2025 (Brisbane International) was defeated by Reilly Opelka in the quarterfinals. Musetti, who played at the Hong Kong Open, also suffered defeat in the quarterfinals.
