The iconic UFC 306 took place last week on September 15 at the iconic Las Vegas Sphere. Dana White‘s $20 million dream project was a massive hit with a variety of fights. As expected some fights took a wild turn, especially Irene Aldana vs. Norma Dumont which ended with a brutal cut.
In the second round, both fighters were involved in a head clash. That opened up a huge and gruesome cut over Aldana’s right eye. Only a few days after the cut, Aldana posted a video of her applying makeup on her bruised face. Recently, after a week since UFC 306, the fighter uploaded her new pictures showing her recovery.
During the fight, blood kept gushing out of the cut but the officials didn’t feel the necessity to end it. Irene Aldana showed incredible grit and fought to the end, only to lose the fight via unanimous decision. Later, Aldana was immediately rushed to the hospital where she got stitched up.
UFC CEO, Dana White posted a picture of her on his social media. Cuts like that are very common in MMA. Many experts believed it to be the worst cut in the history of UFC. However, what shocked fans more was Aldana’s recovery process.
