“It’s been a tricky weekend, I won’t lie” : Carlos Sainz highlights Ferrari’s problems
“It’s been a very tricky weekend, I won’t lie,” said the Spaniard. “I didn’t have the pace today but I managed to hold in there and bring the one-two for the team. I have some homework to do over the next few days and I’m sure I’ll come back stronger,” added the first runner up of the Bahrain GP tonight.
He highlighted on how he made his move for securing a P2 after noticing visible problems with Max Verstappen’s RB18 towards the end of the race when the backlights of his car started going off.
He did however remark on how good Verstappen was today until having to deal with the evident steering issues which made him retire his car. Sainz also mentioned that it is what it is and at the end of the day Verstappen retiring his car resulted in a favourable outcome for Ferrari.
