Immediately after Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever lost Game 3 of their first-round playoff battle against A’ja Wilson and her Las Vegas Aces, the latter’s fans began to target Raven Johnson on social media.

The latter may not have had a debut regular season to remember. But her postseason contributions, particularly in Game 2, drew a lot of praise. Many felt that her skill was now coming to the fore.

Another player who made an immediate and effective impact in Game 2 was Myisha Hines-Allen. The forward managed to rattle Wilson early on, and that set the tone for what was the Fever’s best game all season.

While reporters quizzed Hines-Allen ahead of Game 3, Johnson came up and asked her about the Game 2 clash with Wilson that managed to rattle the Aces. They ended up giggling and laughing about it after MHA mentioned that she is a rage baiter who does it with a smile.

What happened after Game 3 ended with the Aces winning was that their fans, along with those of A’ja Wilson and South Carolina, flamed Raven Johnson for joking about the superstar.

I sincerely apologize for the comments I made during the video with MHA. What I said was wrong, and I take full responsibility for my words. I have nothing but love and respect for my big sister 4 life, A’ja, and I truly wish her nothing but the best.

This is Caitlin Clark’s favorite rookie issuing an apology after she faced heat on social media. Knowing that she was basically laughing at her alma mater’s best player, Wilson, she understood why fans were angry with her.

Fever fans remind Raven Johnson she needn’t bow down to A’ja Wilson’s fans

As soon as Raven Johnson posted her apology, fans flooded in with messages of support. Most of them wondered why she had to bow down to the pressure from A’ja Wilson‘s fans.

They sent her messages of support and reminded her that she said nothing wrong in that interview with Myisha Hines-Allen. Therefore, fans felt that this was egregious on the part of Wilson, the Aces, and South Carolina fans for taking shots at a rookie for engaging in banter with her teammate. Check out examples of those comments, which are listed below.

When players enter their professional careers, they have to leave their college allegiances aside and compete for their new team. That is why Caitlin Clark and Raven Johnson hit it off from the start, even though the two have some history in college.

Fans felt that it should be the norm everywhere, which is why those fans taking shots at the rookie guard were in the wrong for forcing her to apologize for something like this.

South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley tried to mediate the problem on social media by first praising Raven Johnson for doing what she felt was right. Immediately after that, reports came out that the Hall of Famer probably asked the Fever guard to apologize.

Staley confirmed that she did not. But that was not enough to calm the storm, as many felt that the Aces, the four-time league MVP, and South Carolina fans forced the rookie to apologize. On this note, Myisha Hines-Allen decided to chip in with a few words:

But it’s only a problem when they do it. But when my down for the brown does it 🤫… Confused.

The veteran is known for taking a stand for her teammates, as she did for Caitlin Clark this past regular season. Never worried about what others think, Hines-Allen decided to take shots at those fans who forced her rookie into issuing such a statement, while celebrating when their player, Wilson, in his context, does the same about the Fever and others.
