Lately, Travis Kelce has been receiving a boatload of criticism over his underwhelming performances in all three games of this season. Amid the widespread criticism, his brother and recently retired NFL legend, Jason Kelce has come to defense believing his brother will prove the haters wrong.

Despite the Kansas City Chiefs winning all three matches, Travis’ performance has not met the standard typically associated with being the highest-paid tight-end. Recording just 69 yards and eight receptions in three games, he has struggled to make a significant impact on the field. On top of it, the three-time Super Bowl champion has failed to score a single touchdown so far this season.

While the fans are criticizing him, his brother has come in his support. The Hall of Fame-worthy former NFL center praised his younger brother during the recent episode of the New Heights podcast

It’s gonna go your way, especially if you freaking keep being the guy you’ve always been. There ain’t nobody that I’ve ever played sports with and nobody that anybody’s ever been on a team with that’s loved being out there with Trav more. It’s frustrating for me to have to watch and listen to, but I can’t wait for it to turn.

Jason Kelce said

He also expressed that it’s been challenging to watch Travis facing criticism for a slow start to the season. But the former NFL star has faith in his brother and knows that Travis will put an end to these criticisms soon by making a comeback.

Travis Kelce remains focused on team success over personal stats amid criticism of his play and relationship

The Chiefs’ star tight end isn’t the only one facing criticism for his poor outing in all three weeks of this season. With his girlfriend, Taylor Swift also in the audience, critics blamed her for distracting Travis. Former ESPN analyst Todd McShay claimed on “The Ryen Russillo Podcast” criticized the 14-time Grammy winner for disrupting Travis’ game.

Meanwhile, the tight end has acknowledged how he has missed several opportunities given to him to make plays. But he is positive about doing better for the team as a strong offensive weapon that he always was.

[I’m] still trying to make sure that I can help the team out in that regard, knowing that I’ve been that weapon for us in the past. Moving forward, it’s just everyone’s tweaking their game in the right direction. We know what we have to do to get better this week.

Travis Kelce added

Additionally, he shared that he is more focused on leading the team to victories, rather than his individual stats. Last season, the Chiefs might not have won the Super Bowl with the weakest receiving squad in the league, if it wasn’t for him who compensated for those lacking. Even though he had a slow start, he is capable of recovering soon and becomes threat to the opposing defense.
