Finn Balor is hellbent on preventing a CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns match at this year’s WrestleMania. ‘The Prince’ will challenge ‘The Second City Saint’ for the World Heavyweight title this weekend at the Elimination Chamber. It’ll take place in Punk’s backyard in Chicago, which Balor sees as cathartic to avenge his loss in Belfast last month.

Bolstering his physical conditioning before stepping into the battleground with Punk, Balor revealed through a post on X that he did 5000 Hindu squats. It made him say that he’s taking the world title off CM Punk on Saturday. If that does happen, the Judgment Day member would go on to defend the gold against Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania Sunday.

The majority of fans are tempted with Punk vs. Reigns being the ideal feud for a stage like WrestleMania. They got sold on it based off that intense promo exchange that these men had on Raw after Royal Rumble. ‘The Tribal Chief’ brought his A-game on the mic to hold his own against arguably the best trash talker in WWE today.

‘The Second City Saint’ has also met with several assertions that he’s jeopardizing his mega clash with Reigns by agreeing to risk it all against Finn Balor this close to WrestleMania. Punk has countered that sentiment by claiming that he’s just trying to be the best version of himself and striving for what the fans deserve—a fighting champion.

Meanwhile, Balor is hellbent on dashing the mirage of Punk vs. Reigns and inserting himself into the mix to make the WrestleMania main event even better. ‘The Irishman’ hasn’t held a world title in WWE since 2016. Even back then, he was forced to relinquish it due to a shoulder injury.

The resurgence of Finn Balor is what seems to have gotten the attention of fans, especially since his old theme music has returned for good.

It wasn’t supposed to last beyond his return to Ireland, where he got edged out by Punk. But WWE decided to bring Balor’s original entrance theme back on a permanent basis after taking notice of the overwhelming crowd reactions to it, as revealed by Balor himself in a chat with Adrian Hernandez.

Finn Balor on what he thinks of Roman Reigns

In the same interview from above, Finn Balor gave his thoughts on Roman Reigns. The Judgment Day member called him one of the greats. Recalling his first night as a member of the Raw roster in 2016, ‘The Prince’ faced Reigns and even scored a pinfall win over him.

The former Bullet Club leader described it as an eye-opening moment in terms of getting used to the WWE setting on the main roster. Balor said he admires and respects Reigns but has harbored a bit of resentment for what happened the last time they were in the ring together at Extreme Rules in 2021.

Just when the demon-faced Balor was about to put Reigns away, the top rope broke and Balor fell off, allowing ‘The OTC’ to hit the spear and pick up the win. Balor said he hasn’t forgotten that slip-up but has probably moved on from it. ‘Prince Devitt’ has a real shot at making the ‘Head of the Table’ chase him should Balor dethrone CM Punk at the Elimination Chamber.
