The UFC featherweight division has lately faced accusations of being dull in comparison to other divisions. However, it seems like new fighters are bringing rivalries that are interesting to watch. Among them, the recent back-and-forth between the controversial Bryce Mitchell and Jean Silva has made major headlines.

Silva was recently seen at UFC Seattle where he picked up a round one TKO victory over Melsik Baghdasaryan. After the win, he asked CEO Dana White to make him fight Mitchell in a grudge battle. The Arkansas native readily accepted the challenge, which resulted in a heated exchange of words between both fighters.

The round earth reference came from Bryce Mitchell’s obsession with the infamous round earth theory. In the past, ‘Thug Nasty’ even had an online beef with Joe Rogan over a particular subject. Recently, Mitchell even made an explanatory video of why he thinks the Earth is flat, which received millions of views.

Last month, Mitchell was also in hot waters for his antisemitic and Hitler-praising comments. Many fans including Dana White absolutely blasted the fighter for his absurd statements. As a result, ‘Thug Nasty’ had to publicly apologize, but few people still support some of Mitchell’s other ideas. 

UFC fighter backs Bryce Mitchell’s flat earth theory 

Over the last few years, former UFC middleweight title contender Paulo Costa has become one of the funniest fighters. Costa is hilarious due to his trolling, bizarre tweets, and ‘Secret Juice’ gimmick. He mocks opponents with jokes and memes constantly. His press conferences are unpredictable and filled with absurd humor. The Brazilian fighter has even trolled USADA with fake test stories.

Costa embraces self-deprecating humor, making him one of UFC’s funniest and most entertaining personalities today. He recently reposted Bryce Mitchell’s why Earth doesn’t rotate explanation video. However, given his personality, it’s hard to say whether the middleweight fighter is serious or trolling.

Mitchell recently bounced back from his previous knockout loss and picked up a win at UFC 310. Irrespective of the controversies, the American star is excited to get back inside the octagon. Jean Silva is currently on a four-fight finish streak, and would like to continue further. It would be interesting to see how the fight turns out when the UFC finally announces it.
