Mikel Arteta has been a revelation as he guided Arsenal to their second-placed finish in the Premier League last year. PSG are looking to fill their managerial position since sacking Christophe Galtier. Reports suggest the Parisian club has met the Spanish manager with aiming to secure his services.
Luis Campos, the technical director for PSG reportedly approached Arteta for filling the hot seat at Paris. However, it looks Arteta will not be prized away from his project at Arsenal. He has been a fan favorite at the Emirates and is leading the club in his vision.
Galtier guided the Parisian outfit to Ligue 1 glory last season. However, big names in the squad and poor performances in Europe led to his sacking. PSG now have sacked three permanent managers in the last five years. Christophe Galtier, Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, and Julian Nagelsmann all lost their positions at PSG.
PSG were in talks with ex-Bayern coach, Julian Nagelsmann, who was also sacked while in a ski resort. Nagelsmann was linked to Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs but could not reach an agreement. The same issue happened in Paris and thus PSG could not hire the German. Arteta’s contract expires next season and PSG thus are trying to bring him to Paris.

Arsenal’s opening bid for Havertz rejected by Chelsea

Arsenal had a £40 million bid rejected by Chelsea forward Kai Havertz. Chelsea value the forward much higher but are willing to enter into negotiations. The German player is open for a move.
Mikel Arteta wants Havertz at the Emirates. Chelsea want £70 million for the German. However, as Chelsea need funds for a rebuild, they are willing to enter into negotiations and would sell the forward for around the £50 million mark. However, Chelsea have rejected the £40 million bid, deeming to low. Arsenal are unprepared to match Chelsea’s price as they believe that with only 2 years left on the German’s contract, he should be available for cheaper.
Arsenal have lost out the race to sign Moises Caicedo to Chelsea itself. They aim to buy the German in a deal that could be beneficial for all parties. Havertz gets his move. Chelsea get some of their funds and Arsenal get the player.
