Ousmane Dembele has yet to score or assist a goal at PSG. The player joined the Parisians from Barcelona for a fee of €50 Million. The Frenchman made an appearance against Borussia Dortmund this week in the UEFA Champions League making this his 5th appearance for the club.
Ousmane Dembele currently occupies the right wing of PSG, a position previously occupied by Lionel Messi. The 26-year-old was brought in due to his lightning-quick pace, ability to dribble past people and his vision which allows him to find some of the harder passes in the game. The player was initially bought by Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of €105m plus add-ons. Dembele, however, was not able to come good on the fee as the player has missed over 65 games for the club due to injury. The player who was bought using Neymar‘s transfer fee did not come good for the Catalans.
Dembele now plays at PSG where he is yet to be a part of a goal or an assist. He has other worries as well concerning fitness. The player has not made 30 appearances at club level in the league since the ’20/21 season for Barcelona. The player also only managed 180 appearances in six seasons at the club. Registering 40 goals and 43 assists, many Barca fans will be glad to Frenchman depart the club. PSG fans will be hoping the Frenchman performs well, as the club is going through a rebuild after the departure of Neymar to Al-Hilal.
PSG will face Marseille next. After suffering a loss against Nice in their latest league game, the Parisian side will be looking to get back on track to defend their Ligue 1 title.

Twitter Reactions to Ousmane Dembele’s poor start
Ousmane Dembele has been the butt of the joke for his poor start at PSG. Things went from bad to worse when Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedal scored a late equalizer for his club. Fans took no time to start mocking the Frenchman who now has lesser goal involvements than the goalkeeper. Twitter fans did not hold back on their assessment of the player. From labeling him a fraud to calling him a waste of money, the player has received almost every type of abuse possible.

Fair to say Twitter are fairly negative about the player. Dembele is only 26 so the player still has enough time to revitalize his career. Now playing with National Teammate Kylian Mbappe and playing for a PSG side that seem to be more focused on signing efficient players rather than only superstars, both club and player will be looking to learn from their pasts.
