Antonio Rudiger’s football career

In 2011, Antonio Rudiger made his club debut for VfB Stuttgart.  Antonio played in 35 games during the 2013-14 season, scoring two goals. He also made his debut for the senior German national team on 13 May 2014.

Antonio served a couple of good years for Stuttgart until he was approached by Roma for a deal. He was retained by Roma for the next season as well, where he made 35 appearances and provided four assists. In the 2015-16 season, he had a similar result, scoring two goals in 37 games.  

During the 2015-16 era, he seemed to have exceptional performance. He scored an eye-catchy goal in the fourth minute of a match against AC Milan in February 2016. He was successful in appearing in regular matches for both his club team and the national squad owing to his ruthless determination and enthusiasm. As a result, he was offered a transfer to one of the top clubs in the country.

In 2017, he signed a five-year contract with Chelsea for £27 million. Since then, he has been starring as a central defender while also playing a brilliant role in the left-back position. He was also part of the Chelsea squad which played in the UEFA Champions League Final match which they won by 1-0 against Manchester City.

Antonio Rudiger’s Personal life

The exceptional defender was born on 3rd March 1993 in Berlin, Germany. He has his roots in Sierra Leone. He had been brought up from a poor family background with his father Mathias Rudiger.

Rudiger was gifted to his mother, Lily Rudiger while having a half-brother named Sahr Senesie who has played for the Bundesliga Team Borussia Dortmund. Sahr is currently a retired German footballer who also had Sierra Leonean descent.

Antonio Rüdiger is currently married to his beautiful wife Laura Rudiger in the early summer of 2019. Speaking about Laura, as of now her information is still unknown. They were blessed with their first child in February 2020. 

After the birth of his son, he captioned a post on Instagram saying, “That feeling of being a father for the first time is just incredible Welcome to the world, Djamal Sahr Rüdiger”.
