“Are we just making it up…”- Manchester United star Rashford calls out journalist over Twitter
Marcus Rashford has hit out at claims that he is among a group of Manchester United players “irritated” by Cristiano Ronaldo’s attempts to lead the dressing room with his own clique.
Premier League giants Manchester United have had a hard time both on and off the field this season, and the scrutiny has been intense following the club’s poor results.
Ralf Rangnick’s side beat Brighton 2-0 on Tuesday night to lift the mood, but despite the win, leading German journalist Christian Falk posted on social media on Wednesday that there is “a risk of a split in the team” with Rashford, Harry Maguire taking exception to Ronaldo’s behaviour.
Rashford took to Twitter to hit out against the report on social media, questioning its legitimacy.
He tweeted, “Are we just making it up as we go along now then? Please stop looking for divides.”

Cristiano’s time at Manchester United so far
Cristiano Ronaldo did have a strong start to the season scoring in his first match, but the 37-year old failed to maintain the consistency. Cristiano Ronaldo had to go through six matches without a goal, including five Premier League games and an FA Cup ouster against Middlesbrough in which he missed a penalty, before scoring against Brighton in his last match.
The forward already has three matches this season in which he has started among the substitutes and come on before the full-time whistle. In all three substitute appearances, he appeared with the game knotted at 1-1, with Manchester United having squandered a lead before Ronaldo’s introduction.
All three times he failed to change the result in their favour.
The second half of the season has just begun and the fight for the top 4 has already heated up. Manchester United fans along with Cristiano Ronaldo know how important these coming months are and would like to regain their old form.
