Aston Villa transfer news: Dean Smith target Emile Smith Rowe and Emi Buendia

Emile Smith Rowe

According to the media reports, Emile Smith Rowe and Emi Buendia have emerged as Aston Villa transfer targets.

The summer transfer window has begun and the clubs are signing the players and managers real quick. Aston Villa are also looking to add firepower to their midfield after a successful season in 2020/21.

Aston Villa finished 11th on the points table in 2020/21 after barely escaping relegation in the 2019/20 season. The over-reliance on Jack Grealish cost them the spot in the top half of the points table. Dean Smith wants to avoid the same mistake and is looking to sign creative midfielders for the next season.

According to recent transfer rumors, Aston Villa are looking to prioritize Emile Smith Rowe and Emi Buendia as Jack Grealish is linked with a move away from Birmingham. Jack Grealish is appreciated by Manchester United and Manchester City and might leave if a suitable offer arrives. To avoid the situation that happened during Grealish’s unavailability in 2020/21, Dean Smith has made Emi Buendia and Emile Smith Rowe as Aston Villa transfer targets.

According to Daily Mail, Aston Villa are interested in securing the services of Emile Smith Rowe who has just two years left in his contract. Also, they are looking to acquire the services of Emi Buendia who is scouted by multiple clubs in the English Premier League.

Aston Villa are interested in Arsenal's promising 20-year-old attacking midfielder, Emile Smith Rowe. Norwich star Emiliano Buendia is another name on Villa's radar, though the Canaries will be desperate to keep hold of him for the upcoming season back in the Premier League.

Emi Buendia had a great season with Norwich City in EFL Championship. The Argentine international scored 15 goals and assisted 15 times in 39 games for the Canaries. He played an instrumental role in Norwich’s promotion. On the other hand, Emile Smith Rowe played a pivotal role in bringing Arsenal back to the top half of the points table. Gunners were struggling to get going in the league, ESR rejuvenated the team with crucial contributions.

Arsenal are trying to keep Emile Smith Rowe by tying him to a new contract. Can Aston Villa snap before the new contract is offered?
